Cantonese Food and Wine Matching Banquet
A popular alternative for corporate events, department nights out or for groups who enjoy food and wine.
This is an invitation to join Ian McNeill from The Wine Experience who will host a really unique culinary experience in an amazing setting. You will enjoy an evening of wines from around the world, taste good Cantonese food and learn about matching wines with Chinese food.
Enjoy the experience of a Cantonese Banquet in the private dining room of Edinburgh's top Cantonese restaurant (in my opinion), China Town in Athol Place. We have designed a special banquet menu for this event. There will be 2 dishes per course except for the soup course. You will have a different glass of wine for each course, carefully selected to match the dishes on that course. Before each course, I will talk about the wine and how it will match the dishes.
For this private corks and chopsticks experience numbers are restricted to a maximum of 23.You will enjoy a glass of wine with each course. Additional drinks can be purchased directly from the restaurant bar.
You may also also want to include a short wine tasting before dinner to sharpen up the taste buds and be a really fun start to the evening - ask for details.

This is the first in a series of mouth watering gourmet dinners with fine wines that Ian McNeill from The Wine Experience and Linda Scott of Gourmet Cooking Services www.gcscatering.co.uk will be presenting in stylish locations throughout Central Scotland.
This Italian Gourmet Food and Wine Experience will be held at the wonderfully atmospheric Stables at Kirknewton in West Lothian where you will enjoy an evening of great food and wine in true Italian style. The foods are mainly sourced from Alimentari Vini, the top Italian food supplier in Scotland.
On arrival you will be greeted with a glass of quality Prosecco that can be enjoyed while strolling in the extensive gardens or mingling with the other guests.
Before each course, Ian will talk you through the wine and how it will compliment the flavours that you will experience from the dish that will be typical of that region. In true Italian style, we will finish off the meal with some fine Italian cheese and a glass of Amarone from one of italy's top producers, designed to be enjoyed in good company and with good conversation.
Linda, your chef will join us near the end of the evening and will be delighted to answer any questions on the dishes. Every guest will leave with a pack detailing the recipes for all the dishes and the wines that complimented them.For this exclusive event, places are limited. There is already a lot of interest from lovers of Italian food and wine so early booking is encouraged

Ian McNeill of The Wine Experience has teamed up with Matin Khan of Itihaas Restaurant in Dalkeith to bring you an evening where you will learn all about matching wine with Indian food.
Ian will take you through how to match wines with the flavours in Indian foods and you will be able to taste these wines while enjoying a special 3 course meal prepared specially by the chefs at Itihaas, famous for it's fine Indian cuisine.
The cost of the evening is just £39.95 per person and includes a glass of wine with each of the 3 courses

This course is for :-
- Anyone who wants to learn about matching food with wine.
- Anyone who finds choosing the right wine for a special meal is a bit of a lottery.
This is a very informal evening with a lot of interaction and discussion. No knowledge of wine is required but it does help if you do enjoy wine as we will be tasting a range of wines with a selection of canapes.
We will discuss the main grape varieties as well as which new and old world wines that you can pair with food. We will also cover the main flavours of food, as well as “difficult” foods that can be a challenge for wines.
